How We Rebuilt a Historic Architecture Firm's Website

This project featured an exciting design challenge. LAN Associates is a historic architecture firm that has been around for over 55 years. Because of the company's history, it was essential to convey an established look & feel.

However, because the architecture industry is so visual, we still needed to create an eye-catching design that would invite people to browse the site for a long time.

To solve this design puzzle, we utilized the excellent photography and video assets of their past projects. By featuring large images and high-def videos, the site's design makes a bold first impression. Yet, the rest of the site's design remained clean for an overall conventional look. This design direction allowed us to stay true to their brand and achieve a professional look perfect for a large corporate architecture firm.

A vital component of this project was ensuring that the company's marketing team could quickly build out new website landing pages. To do so, we created several plug-and-play templates that allow LAN Associates to quickly & easily build out high-quality landing pages that perfectly match the rest of the website's design.

These landing page templates are perfect for building out local service pages to target SEO keywords and have the flexibility to be used for paid traffic campaigns. By easily building out landing pages (with no coding skills required), the marketing team can quickly create new website pages on the fly to promote new marketing initiatives.

Working with a large organization that featured several project stakeholders, we knew that there could be no "surprises" when it came to the new website's design. That's why we used a tool called Figma that allowed us to create high-quality mock-ups of the website to present our design ideas to our clients.

Using this website wireframing tool, we clearly showed the clients the design of their company's future website before any development work began. This tool allowed them to preview the designs as if they were a live website, giving them an unprecedented level of design detail before any development began.

This way, they would be able to see exactly what the website would look like before going online and be confident that it would help them achieve their marketing goals for the project.

We're not ones to leave our clients high and dry after a project. While we helped LAN Associates design & build their new website, their in-house marketing team would ultimately be in charge of the website once the project was finished.

For the project to truly pay off for the company, the marketing team needed to understand how to manage and update the website with new content to leverage it as a true digital marketing tool.

To ensure they had all the resources they needed to do this, we created what you could call a "user-manual" for the website. We recorded screen-recording tutorial videos to show our clients step-by-step exactly how to add content like case studies & blogs and make updates throughout the website. We also provided written documentation as needed so that our client's marketing team had all the tools they needed to be successful.
